John Leek studied at the Teachter Training Institute of Vrije Universiteit, has a first grade Pedagogics at University of Amsterdam and graduated for Educational Sciences (instructional design, media didactics) at University of Amsterdam, where he did his thesis on 'Nintendo Kids'. (1994)
He was training developer at Psychological Pedagogical Institute Amsterdam (1984-1994), co-developed the national science and technology center NEMO (1994-2000) and now works at Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. There he developed the media-educational strategy. He was one of the founders of the national network media literacy Mediawijzer.net. Now he is responsible for development of co-creation with strategic partners for the new museum for mediaculture of Sound and Vision (open 2020).
